Bay Area duo Retro and Suhn have been praised by the likes of Common and Little Brother and have even toured with them since first getting their start in 2001 and have also been compared Blackstar and Slum Village! Producing beautiful soul inspired hip hop that fans of Strange Fruit Project will definitely love and the comparisons are not far off. They give off a classic, positive hip hop vibe not found in much of today's stuff, so while it may not be new to true hip hop heads, it's definitely a welcome addition to selection of newer cats putting out the type of stuff that reminds us of what it was like to listen to A Tribe Called Quest or Digable Planets for the very first time
